Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue
I don’t write romance novels. None of mine fit the genre perfectly. Yet, every story I write includes a healthy dose of romance, because we were created that way. The Greatest Romance is the one where the King of all the Word sends his Only Begotten Son to rescue a bride who definitely isn’t worthy. Until the Son makes a way.
You can find that story in an ancient library called The Bible. Sixty-six books with approximately 40 authors. Kings, shepherds, prophets, preachers, fishermen, a doctor, a prisoner, and a tax collector. It was written over a span of 1500 years on three different continents, and every page points back to the main plot line.
So, in remembrance of the Great Romance, and in theme with the books I write, each of the upcoming posts will explore one of these phrases - something old, something new, something borrowed, or something blue. (The rhyme ends with a “lucky penny in her shoe.” A girl can dream.) I hope you come along for the journey. I think it will be fun.
